Fashion Inspiration: Taylor Swift “22″

Written by Shelby - Rollins College Photo Credit She may be 23 now, but Taylor Swift ‘s latest single (and video), “ 22 “, shows us that we can live like we’re 22, even if it’s just for the night. From having breakfast at midnight to dressing up like hipsters, this super fun and totally catchy song has plenty of suggestions for ways to let loose. I’ve had it on repeat for about the past week and it is by far one of my favorites off of Red. She recently just released a super fun video for the song, featuring a group of her friends “dancing like they’re 22? in different locations. If you haven’t seen it, catch it below! I’ve seen girls walking around campus in some strange half-and-half looks – the classic example of which is Daisy Dukes, Uggs and a sweatshirt. (Why is this a thing?) The Buddhi Batiks Way Batik is a craft that combines the illustrative skills of an artist with a wax-resist dyeing technique applied to natural fabrics like cotton, silk, and linen. At Buddhi Batiks, the craft is practiced by women, some of whom have been with us since the company’s inception in 1970; they are the lifeblood of our business. Our batik workshop, located in the village of Koswadiya in the tropical island of Sri Lanka, in turn plays an integral role in the economy of the village. Each piece that is produced at Buddhi Batiks is hand-painted in wax by these talented artisans, and hand-dyed by experienced dye masters in a seemingly unlimited variety of colours, ranging from the most vibrant of hues to the subtlest, softest pastels and creams. The piece is then boiled and sun dried, and the process repeated over for every additional colour. Each piece is therefore a unique product of several artisans' tender care; each piece is a unique work of batik art.
