3 More Cute Winter-to-Spring Transition Outfits

Written by Lara - University of British Columbia
As the weather gets warmer, we get into that awkward period where it’s too cold for just one layer, but too hot for a full-on winter jacket. I’ve seen girls walking around campus in some strange half-and-half looks – the classic example of which is Daisy Dukes, Uggs and a sweatshirt. (Why is this a thing?) Clearly, there’s some confusion about what makes a practical, yet fashionable springtime look.
So what’s a fashion-conscious girl about campus to do? Check out our guide, of course! Last week, we talked about winter-to-spring transitional fashion, and today we’ve got three more cute outfits to help you transition your wardrobe to spring.

Necklace, Boots, Jeans, Sweater, Vest, Bracelet

Dressing for warmth doesn’t mean you have to forgo bright spring colors! Pair gorgeous blue boots (that can stand up to springtime showers) with cool lace-patterned jeans and a tangerine cable-knit sweater for a fun vibe. A geometric-printed denim vest adds another layer for added warmth, and has the bonus of being easily removable and small enough to fit under your chair in those stuffy lecture halls. Finish off this eclectic look with a chunky gold bangle and a delicate bird necklace to celebrate the springtime.

Cardigan, Long-sleeve, Ring, Necklace, Boots, Pants
For a more sophisticated look, pair a monochromatic black outfit with a bold, print cardigan. A slim-cut long-sleeve tee and some coated black jeans help to elongate the body, especially when worn with practical but stylish wedge boots. The pop of warm red in the necklace will light up your complexion, while a little geometric ring adds a cool touch. This outfit is great for early spring, because it’s comfortable, but still super chic.

Beanie, Scarf, Boots, Jacket, Ring, Dress, Belt

A maxi dress can work perfectly in cooler temperatures – just make sure you layer to keep it appropriate for spring! Under this awesome military coat, a plain black maxi dress looks street-style-chic, especially when paired with suede wedge booties. To make sure you don’t lose your waist in all the layers, cinch the dress with a chain belt. Complete this boho outfit with a cool printed scarf, a knit beanie, and an oversize cocktail ring.
What are your favorite tips for dressing in the springtime? What are your must-have spring pieces? Would you wear these outfits? Leave me any thoughts, questions or suggestions in the comments below!
